The Brotherhood/Sister Sol Inc in NYC needs our help! We are looking to send 7-10 volunteers to help clean up, plant and build in their garden. Move to action and spend the day creating an outdoor area so others may have opportunity to enjoy a beautiful garden while basking in the beautiful sun. In addition, be part of creating an edible wall for the children to use.
The Brotherhood/Sister Sol addresses the dire need for supportive programs for Black and Latino youth who are surrounded by the poverty, drugs, violence, racism and mis-education which plague America's cities. The Brotherhood/Sister Sol provides these youth with the knowledge, resources, opportunities, and love necessary in order to understand and overcome these negative pressures, as well as the skills to combat them.
Help us help them!!

The Now It's Your Turn team was a vital part of help cleaning up the Hudson River. NIYT Volunteers joined over 250 volunteers from various groups at 11 sites removing hundreds of bags of trash and piles of debris from the river, making a cleaner environment for the plants and animals that call the river their home. The Now It's Your Turn volunteers aided in revitalizing a major urban and suburban green way. The clean up efforts prevented debris from being flushed into the Hudson River.
This environmental cause was a wonderful example of our volunteers taking action on a small, local level to achieve large positive effects that help all those who share this planet with us.
We continue to be grateful to all those who choose to participate in our various monthly service events. The team would like to thank our wonderful volunteers for their efforts, and we hope our foundation's mission will be spread through your good work on our behalf.
Sincerely,
Now It's Your Turn Team.
The Now It's Your Turn Team was honored to be asked to volunteer our time at the United Hebrew Geriatric Center in New Rochelle, N.Y. The center works with over 600 residents by providing them with life changing services such as nursing, recreation, assisted living and valuable healthcare.
The NIYT volunteers spent their time at the center by playing chess, cards, and talking to the residents. The residents truly enjoyed spending time with our volunteers. The event was a meaningful and fun filled experience for all those who participated.
The foundation continues to be grateful to all those who stay committed to our mission. We encourage all to visit our website and our facebook page to stay informed of all our future service events.
Thank you to all of you for your support in making each service event a success.

Now It's Your Turn Team.
On March 25, 2010 the Now It's Your Turn Foundation volunteered their time at the Youth Residence for Boy's in White Plains, NY operated by the Family Services of Westchester.
TheThe NIYT volunteers spent their time playing basketball, making pizzas, and discussing real world career experiences while also providing advice.
The residential staff who serves these boys were touched, and amazed by the way these boys responded to our volunteers. They were moved to see that the boys began to open up about various issues they were facing. Most importantly, the boys' gratitude and smiling faces illustrated what a valuable experience this was for them.
The Now It's Your Turn Foundation was honored to spend time with these bright young men and hopes to continue to build a relationship with them into the future.
The Now It's Turn Foundation continues to be humbled by the response and representation our volunteers provide for our foundation. We are truly grateful to all who support our events, and make each event worthwhile for the community we serve.

The Now It's Your Turn Foundation is proud to support the mission of two of our volunteers Jose Cherian and his wife Melissa Cherian who will be traveling to Honduras for a week to volunteer their time to a Children's Home. This Children's Home will provide much needed care and comfort to many needy children in Honduras. Their specific task while they are there will include the designing, and painting of the entire home, so that these children can grow up in a warm and welcoming place that feels like home.
The Children's Home will be receiving 5-10 babies (newborn to 2yrs.) at the beginning of March. Some of these infants will be from abusive homes, some who have been abandoned, and some will come from parents who have no means of taking care of them.
We are seeking donations of gently used baby items such as: blankets, baby blankets, crib sheets, bibs, baby bottles (big and small), wipes, clothes (sleepers, onesies, etc), baby soap/wash. Please do not worry if the items have small stains on them, the Children's Home will use them as long as they are clean.
These children will be brought into the Home with absolutely nothing and most of them will be malnourished. These infants will require a vast amount of necessities babies need, especially in their early years to survive. Any help you can offer to these infants will make a profound difference in their lives.
If you would like to donate to this mission please email Ben Parayil at jparayil@yahoo.com to get more information on how you can make a donation.
The NIYT team would like to thank you for your time, and effort to making this mission a success for our volunteers.
Sincerely,
The Now It's Your Turn Team.

The Now It's Your Turn Foundation was honored to support the efforts of two of our dedicated and courageous volunteers Dr. Krishanthi Satchi, and Dr. Vishaal Veerula on their mission to Haiti. Due to the generosity of our NIYT members and Irving Pharmacy (Paterson, NJ), the foundation was able to purchase these doctors $2500 dollars worth of much needed medical supplies at cost, which were required for their trip. These two doctors were truly moved and inspired by their mission to Haiti, and wanted to share their remarkable experience with us.
Medical Missions to Haiti
By: NIYT Member, Dr. Krishanthi Satchi
My husband and I graduated from Medical School not too long ago, and as we watched the devastating aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti, we realized we could help many of the wounded who were in need of care. As word spread of our departure to Haiti, and the supplies that we would need, I was given a precious gift from none other than my NIYT family with the help of Irving Pharmacy in Paterson, NJ Their gift allowed us to purchase an entire pharmacy of antibiotics and other medications that would have been otherwise difficult to obtain. We used these valuable medications on wounds of victims who had gone untreated since the earthquake a week ago. These antibiotics helped treat the infected wounds and stop the spread of infections to other parts of the body. Essentially these vital medications not only saved limbs, but it saved lives.
On January 19, 2010, my husband and I traveled with over 50 other medical professionals into the crisis in Haiti. We did not know what to expect, other than the imagery portrayed by the media. Despite what we saw on TV, we were still filled with excitement and anxiety as we began our journey into this unknown country. Once we became situated, the anxiety settled and we found not just people but survivors. These individuals who despite the rubble that lay all around them were able to push forward and do their best by living "normal" lives. When we arrived into Port Au Prince, we pulled into tent cities with thousands of people waving and happy to see doctors despite their own devastating situations - no homes, no clean water, very little food, yet they thanked us. It was a testament to the spirit of the people of Haiti.
The highlight of the trip was definitely the emergency c-section we did on the cement floor of the clinic on a blue tarp. Though these were far from sterile conditions, we were able to give the mother three different kinds of antibiotics to fight off infections she would encounter during the procedure. We were able to save her and her baby's life that day, and an emergency team was able to transfer them to a higher care facility.
We know our work in Haiti will be long term so we can not thank our NIYT family enough for their love, support, and encouragement as we make plans to continue our mission in Haiti.
The Now It's your Turn Foundation hosted a coat drive which was a remarkable success due to the diligence and hard work exhibited by all. Due, to the overwhelming response from our many members we were able to collect over 800 coats for several different food pantries, and homeless shelters throughout Westchester County. These non for profit organizations were left speechless at the numbers of coats which were handed out on a single day.
Due to the contributions made by our supporters we able to help cloth many needy families who would not have been able to afford the appropriate clothing to dress their loved ones this winter season. Our foundation was truly overwhelmed by the kind of generosity exhibited by all of your family, friends, co-worker, churches, and local business who aided us in surpassing our established goal of 500 coats.
The team at Now It's Your Turn continues to be amazed at the spirit of generosity by all who continuously contribute to our event. We as a foundation is focused and committed to our mission, and with our memberships continued support we know we will be able to positively affect the lives of many one good deed at a time.
On November 21, 2009 the Now Its Your Turn Team a total of 144 volunteers go to eight different non for profit organizations throughout Westchester County.
We had individuals go to Habitat for Humanity, the United Hebrew Greatric Center, St. Joseph's Nursing Home, the Salvation Army, the Holy Rosary Food Pantry, the Park Restoration team at Groundworks, the Open Door Medical Center, and the United Way. All these organizations were moved by all of the support shown by membership, who did a wonderful job representing and promoting our foundation's mission, and purpose.
During the afternoon portion of our day we had 45 individuals who signed up and donated blood to the Blood Bank, and 20 individuals who participated in a swab drive which was conducted by the National Bone Marrow Association. Both of these organizations were incredibly grateful to everyone for allowing them to give families who reach out to them; the gift of life.
There were also numerous individuals who donated an abundant amount of books and coats to both our drives held on that day. We had a group of young volunteers who were able to make a hundred peanut butter and jelly sandwiches which were donated to the Holy Rosary Food Pantry. All the items collected made a significant difference to many families in need.
The foundation was truly humbled by the generous support of our membership. The NIYT team was able to give our membership a memorable and valuable experience that made a lasting impact on everyone who attended the event. Our foundation is committed to providing our volunteers the platform to give of themselves to causes that are important and vital to our communities.
The Now It's Your Turn Foundation was proud to announce with the support of our family, friends, and local businesses we have collected a total of 3550 POUNDS of food within two weeks for the Food Bank for Westchester County. Our memberships charitable donations aided the efforts to feed countless number of children, and adults throughout the 200 agencies supported by the food bank.
Overwhelmed by the immense amount of food donated, The Food Bank for Westchester County was hopeful that their cause of eradicating hunger by 2015 is a tangible goal. The food bank shipped our donations to low income day care centers, adult homes, various shelters and nursing homes throughout the Westchester County. Our donations helped the food bank provide for individuals through a very difficult holiday season.
The Now It's Your Turn Foundation, continue to be grateful to all the individuals who donated to make that event a monumental success story. In the future with our memberships continued encouragement, and support we will continue to help the food banks to achieve their goal of hunger relief.
